Biography

Meeting in college, Sam Vespone and Femi Popoola initially began writing music in a dorm room with one goal mind, “let’s make something that sounds dope." Although they came from different musical backgrounds, the resulting collaboration was something that was undeniably unique. In that moment, the JUSCOVA project was born. With Sam on vocals, Femi doing production, and both musicians writing each record, the two set out to create a sound that felt known, but was also novel in nature. As their sound progressed, the duo realized that it wasn’t necessarily the music that solidified their project, but the motive behind it. The belief that all work – be it lyrical, melodic, or production based – is carried out “in service of the record." JUSCOVA takes aim at the industry with a willingness to remove themselves from the process in order to foster a more purified product. While their most notable work, ‘No Love In Brooklyn’, is a testament to the talent that exists, it represents only a fraction of what the duo is a capable of.
