Derrick Wilson, known professionally as Plyr1 (Player One), is an American rapper/singer/songwriter born in Houston, TX. PLYR1 has spent a large majority of his focus learning and creating hip hop and R&B music. He began writing songs as an adolescent and worked mostly with his tight-knit group of friends developing his craft writing songs and recording locally from an in-house studio they’d built between 2004-2010. 
 His debut full-length solo project, “Escape” arrived years after continuously launching collaborative mixtapes with Retro Dee. “Escape,” represents what music means to PLYR1, and that is a getaway from everyday life. He believes that within music, you can be whoever you want to be and can put on the mask of whatever you feel at the moment to obtain that characteristic. He believes a safe haven for many people in the world is music and that it’s used everyday as a guide to relieve the stress that life presents. The project presents a collection of songs that represent different characteristics that PLYR1 has obtained over his years of growth, and presents a track list of songs where no individual song sounds similar to another. “Escape” launched November 26, 2019 with a total of 11 songs including his two singles released earlier that year, “The Anthem (I'm That...)” and “Sasuke” 
 Currently, PLYR1 has released and is promoting his next project which he refers to as “Worst Case Scenario” which features appearances from @Cheldon McQueen @Paris Le Rouge
