Dejan Lapanja is a guitarist, drummer, producer and songwriter from Škofja Loka, Slovenia. He is currently producing music for a drum & guitar rock duo with drummer Gašper Peršl, performs with singer-songwriter Katarina Juvančič, singer Severa Gjurin and plays in a band called Bakalina Velika. He holds an MA in jazz guitar from the Kunst-Universität Graz, Austria. After leaving the academy he reconnected with his first musical love – the roots of rock’n’roll music, which he used to listen and play as a teenager in a group called Ulixes. For the past 15 years he has been collaborating with acclaimed bands or solo artists from Slovenia, Europe and further afield, such as Vasko Atanasovski trio, Olivija, Laibach, Vlado Kreslin, Vlatko Stafanovski, Salamandra Salamandra, Doghouse Roses, La Fanfarria del Capitan and others. He performed in Europe, Asia and South America. “Being musician is my whole life. What I love to do most is to create and produce original music with fellow musicians, build long term relationships with bands and try not to loose my muse,” says Dejan.Lapanja loses himself in a highly energetic performance, like the Keith Moon of acoustic guitar with an infinite range of facial expressions and poses that are individually entertaining. ...
