Born in Kingston Jamaica as the second to his twin Sanjay, Sanjoe Spencer knew from his early days in Seaview Gardens that music would become a major part of his life and the life of his sibling. He recalls the many hours they both spent singing songs together, from major hits to their own creative lyrics. They began to hone their craft and perform their original songs for family and friends at the age of 15 years and it was then that it became apparent that their innate passion would become their life path as a duo. Together, they co-wrote a number of songs and performed them islandwide. Jaii and Jhoe had the honour of being the featured artistes at Live on the Waterfront in 2019. Their management team, Vybnation subsequently conceptualized Kalimba Nights which served as their resident event where they would further develop their skills and network with other upcoming acts in the industry. While the entertainment industry was on standstill during Covid, the brothers spent time writing and working on their craft. In August of 2021, Speng was dealt a horrible blow in the form of the loss of his twin; a tragedy he still grapples with today. The principle that Speng lives by as he continues his journey in music is that his craft should always be taken seriously and treated with the requisite diligence. He believes that like the many greats before him, he must proceed with confidence, consistency, respect and determination.
