Manchester based Vektral was introduced to drum and bass during his time at university after attending events at the city’s world famous Warehouse Project, following this he quickly became immersed in the genre, travelling up and down the country to experience nights at venues such as Motion, Fabric and Building Six. The sound of labels such as Ram Records and Viper Recordings was (and continues to be) a huge influence and Vektral was inspired to begin his journey in music production around 2016, with his first release shortly after this. Three years later, he began releasing music under the Vektral name and began to play shows in and around Manchester. His sound involves a variety of different influences from within and outside of the genre, taking inspiration from ambient music and film soundtracks along with genres such as house and techno. Fast forward to 2023 and he has had singles, EP’s, and a host of successful free download releases on labels such as High Tea, DNB Lab, Yosh, Grand Theft Audio and Dazed, alongside gigs with prominent artists such as Subsonic, Joe Ford, Levela, and Gray. With numerous releases already lined up for 2023, expect plenty more to come from Vektral.
