Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Hip-Hop/ R&B singer/songwriter Holly Monroe, born Shanpriale Holland first rose to prominence in the early years of the 1990s when she enrolled into music and dance classes at the early age of 4. Monroe later joined the Florida Ballet where she continued to develop as an artist and musician. Her influential roots in music go back to Tina Turner, Cher, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston & Patti Labelle. From today’s music Holly Monroe pulls inspiration from core artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Janet Jackson. In 1994 she contributed vocals to several tracks as a member of the MC CHI CHI THE GIRLS AND BOO group. Her first recording didn’t arrive until 1998 where the single “I GOT SOUL” debuted, which took hold of the local market and community by storm. After collaborating with other local artists, she took a brief hiatus to finish her education and further develop her craft. In 2019, Holly Monroe signed a deal with NiVe Entertainment Group where she announced her return to music with the release of her debut single, HELL NAH, CREATED WITH MUSICAL MENTOR T RONE AND SUPER PRODUCER M GEEZY. Monroe has a unique message of self-empowerment throughout her music. Her style is unapologetic and shocking when it comes to the lyrics and variety of subject matter she covers.
