daFantom336, also known as Smoothblack daFantom, is a hip hop producer, keyboardist and rapper from North Carolina. He creates song concepts that tend to range in and out of the box. He began his career playing keyboard at his father’s church. After high school, he studied at Guilford Technical Community College in the Entertainment Technology Program, this program covered everything from recording techniques to songwriting and management. He’s produced many artists in NC and beyond, some of them being, Rakidd, Triple Threat Bangaz (3TB), LB Ali, Gene Wright, Kyran Scott, J Ready, and Zarah. He also was the band director for Tyler Woods, which was an R&B artist under Grammy award winning producer 9th Wonder at the time. Cyril has started a non-profit organization, Strange Fruit Foundation which is committed to creating opportunities of value to BIPOC musicians, artists, and entertainment professionals. We also provide internships and educational opportunities to the ARTS community. The organization provides the opportunity for grass-roots artists to express themselves in a professional manner at a meaningful wage. This in turn creates a safer community, generates valuable relationships, and increases economic value within the community. As of 2022, he also creates musical arrangements for his band, The NuBeing Collective. They have a unique style that combines hip hop, jazz, rock, and gospel in a live music form.
