Biography

Joshua Tamayo is a multifaceted musician who excels in piano, organ, conducting, arranging and composing. His ardent adoration for music developed over the years through piano lessons under his mentor and teacher, Peter Lam, and his 10-year experience at St. Michael's Choir School, where he specialized in sacred choral music and organ. His tutelage under the prestigious Kathleen Mann and Thomas Barrett Armstrong in the school nurtured his diverse abilities, making him a well-rounded musician. At the age of 12, Josh's enthusiasm for conducting was ignited after he had the privilege of being a guest conductor for the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra. At 14, he achieved first class honours by successfully finishing the Royal Conservatory of Music's program for an associate diploma in piano. He further honed his musical abilities by competing in national piano competitions and went on to pursue his studies in piano performance at the University of Toronto. Josh's passion for music continues to be at the forefront of his life as he shares it with others full-time.
