Gilly is himself a unique blend of artist. Growing up in Bristol UK, Born to a Jamaican mother/Scottish father, He was always surrounded by an array of music & culture from a early age. Around the age of 15 he found his passion for music, in the early days of the garage & drum and bass culture, He turned his energy to performance and writing. Later going onto Mc'ing at number of events performing alongside likes of - DJ Die, DJ Clipz (Redlight), & Nicky Blackmarket. Just as bookings started picking up he found himself in court after a series of repeat offences, was In of out of prison between 2000-2009 Gilly used this chapter of his life to educate & express himself with poetry and spoken word. His debut mixtape 'My Reality' features a spoken word piece written whilst spending time in prison, which later become foundations of the track - 'Mikael'. A true story of the grim reality of life inside prisons all over the world. After being released with fate on his side he made a connection with UK rap legend Klashnekoff after meeting at a live event, they later went onto to collaborate on the track 'Freedom'. which was supported by a strong visual to match.
