Winner of the JUNO 2020 award (Canadian Grammy) for « best solo jazz album » in canada for his last record MiGRATIONS Jacques Kuba Séguin is considered as one of the most adventurous and multi-talented, trumpeter of his generation. He is a composer for groups of various formats: Odd Lot, Litania Projekt, or his quintet Migrations. Séguin’s musical repertoire is by turns melodic, explosive, and accessible. As a performer, he is definitely a showman, and he is recognized as one of the most brilliant trumpeters of his generation. For more than ten years, Jacques has been regularly touring Europe, especially Poland and Lithuania, Germany, China, Quebec, and the rest of Canada. He plays regularly with many musicians of the Montreal jazz scene, including Elizabeth Shepherd, Yves Léveillé, Jazzlab and has accompanied, Deltron 3030, Kid Koala, Don Rickles, Jean Leloup, Ariane Moffatt, Dobacaracol, and Pierre Lapointe, among others. Jacques toured for two years with the Cirque de Soleil's Delirium, performing in 150 cities across the globe. His discography as composer and bandleader includes five albums, all on the ODD SOUND label, which he founded and runs. As well as producing his albums, Jacques hosted Symphonie en bleu, the CBC/ICI Musique Classique radio show that connects classical music and jazz. Finally, he is one of the artistic director of the Jazz crossing festival in Poland.
