„In his hands the clarinet seems to take on human form.“ (Hamburger Abendblatt) Clarinetist David Orlowsky is widely recognized as a musician of tremendous expressiveness and depth, and is acknowledged worldwide as one of today's leading interpreters of the clarinet repertoire ranging from Mozart to Golijov to klezmer. David has recorded seven discs for Sony Classical which have received three ECHO Klassik awards and won him a large and devoted following. His upcoming album "Alter Ego" with Lutenist David Bergmüller will be released this spring by Warner Classics. The album explores the music of Dowland and Purcell and also features original compositions by Orlowsky and Bergmüller. At the age of 16, David founded the David Orlowsky Trio. In 2019 the award-winning group went their separate ways, looking back on a career spanning 21 years and countless concerts around the globe. David has appeared as a soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, the German Chamber Orchestra and the Hamburg Symphony at a number of major festivals and venues including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Istanbul Music Festival, Lucerne Festival, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall, Berliner Philharmonie and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. An avid chamber musician, David collaborates with celebrated performers such as the Quartetto di Cremona, the Danish String Quartet, Martha Argerich and many others.
