In addition to his solo works, he appears on recordings by Laurasia, which he co-founded in 1973 with guitarist Patrick S. Noonan and violinist Jonathan Levi. John's creativity and inventiveness extend beyond his music. His company, John Houshmand Design, builds "one-of-a-kind sculptural furniture out of planks, slabs, and even trunks of reclaimed American hardwood like black walnut and elm."
