With his distinctive look including pink hats, round glasses and hot pink fanny packs, singer/songwriter Solstice Fayemz has been known to showcase his adventurous style. Born in Washington DC, he began his music career under the group name SKR, a group he created with schoolmates, while in school in Lagos, Nigeria. He started pursuing music full time (while studying chemical engineering at MIT), originally collaborating with Nigerian-producer Cee3. He released his debut EP, Fourword, in the summer to great critical and public acclaim in colleges around Boston, propelling him to popularity in and around the city. Armed with authentic bars that detailed his experiences and showcased his creative hunger, he became known for his fearless delivery, introspective lyrics and confident intros. In 2019, he released his sophomore EP, Sublime under his new imprint Glass Stone Inc. in 2019. This marked a period of growth and diversification for Solstice as he began to channel both his love for rap and his rich Nigerian heritage into his music. Not only did this EP cement his status as a versatile and consistent artist, it also helped him become the opening act for 6lack in his 2019 Boston concert. Born in a generation that demonstrates grit and resourcefulness, he lets these motifs shine through in his music making it clear that he is here to stay.
