Born 1987 in Oslo, Norway, Lars Ruben started making music as toddler. Amazed by rap culture he found his passion for music very early in life. At the age of 14 he got his first studio equipment and developed a deep interest for mixing and audio engineering. As a teenager he arranged several events in his local city, Asker, booking other artist to the communal stages and warming up for them. He quickly became a familiar face in the industry through his efforts for the culture. He formed various rap groups and collectives under the name Lars Rubix, eventually releasing his first official project in 2007 with the group Bankmenn. After releasing several mixtapes, EPs and albums, as well as touring across Scandinavia and signing to Universal Music, the group split up in 2013. Lars found himself on a new path, finally pursuing a carreer as an independent solo artist. After engineering and co-producing several songs for MadCon, he found a new interest in making beats, before fully embracing the role as a music producer. He made his first major mark as a producer with Jonas Benyoubs breaktrough single «Youm Wara Youm» co-prod Kastel in 2017. The song was featured and scripted around the Norwegian TV series SKAM and charted #1 on Spotify Viral. In need of a change, and outgrowing his old name, Rubbaband was born. «Some people call me Rubba, plus I’m a one man band, so the change made perfect sense» www.rubbabandsound.com
