Rishi Chakraborty started learning folk songs at the age of three. At different times he gets close to different virtuous people. One of them is Baidyanath Banerjee, Dr. Arya Chowdhury, Purobi Bhattacharya, Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya. In 2015, he participated in Zee Bangla Saregamapa reality show. He received the award for the best entertainer and performer in the reality show. After that, Rishi Chakraborty sang songs for various Bengali films and serials. In the year of 2020, he recieved "Lalon Sangeet Samman" . He continues to work on various albums with various audio platforms and companies.
