L.A. born and San Francisco grown, Vesta is a black, queer singer-songwriter currently residing in the suburbs of Chicago. Their influences vary, from jazz and R&B to future funk and house music. Vesta's interest in music production began after listening to Daft Punk's Alive 2007, as began their mixing skill with Ableton Live. Progressing from house to a more relaxed style akin to that of Sade or Raveena, Vesta slowly began to incorporate their own writing and voice into their music. Only a few months after the release of the sultry, jazz-influenced single, Pressure, they released their first full album, Lovenotes. The 9-track album details love in all its sweetness, sorrow, and regret. While they released a few more singles in the meantime, Vesta's focus was on their next full album, published in May 2020. Deliverance brought with it a longer track list, a more professional production style, and a story of self-discovery. The title song featuring fellow Chicago-based musician Asha Omega quickly rose to be Vesta's #1 listened to track. Their newest album, " HYDRA ", is their third album, released in August of 2021, and instantly surpassed the bars set by their previous albums. With their production style more polished than ever, this is their most cohesive and detailed work to date. The album was preceded by two singles, Fascination and We're All Gone, and featured collaborators such as Tonyisdead and Rigano.
