Peter La Grand is a songwriter living in Vancouver, British Columbia. La Grand’s music is rooted in tradition of Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens with more than a touch of Sufjan Stevens, all influenced by hours of listening to his older brother’s records during his childhood as a latch-key kid in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In his years of performance, playing, and writing, La Grand has put out four solo albums, five albums with the group Ordinary Time, and performed often in both Canada and the U.S., opening for acts such as Broken Social Scene, Anathello, and Over the Rhine. More impressively he convinced his now wife to marry him, and they have three amazing young children. Doing house shows is Peter’s favourite way to play music for people, with room for stories, moments of silence, and laughter popping up along the way
