Jaakko Aukusti is an artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Helsinki, Finland. He released his first EP Volcano in early 2015, with the debut single "Shadow Boxer" charting on the Finnish national radio station YleX, and his celebrated debut album Mountain in 2017. Jaakko Aukusti released his much awaited sophomore album Vanishing Act in September 2024. The album delves deeper into the world of electronics — utilising sampled and mutilated recordings to convey feelings of isolation, anxiety and hope. Jaakko's music is best described as an awkward attempt to make pop music without really sounding like pop music - grandiose and ambitious visions, explosive and physical textures, melodies that reach for the sky, operating in the gray area between mainstream and alternative. He draws inspiration from contemporary art, modern electronic music and the never-ending and nerve-wracking quest of navigating the world around him.
