After nine years in the corporate world, Léna Kipe closed the door to her office and headed to the studio. Her debut EP seems to serve as a series of confessions, a door into the mind of a right-brained singer walking into a left-brained accountant’s shoes -ambitions, contradictions, and a constant tension between her beliefs, her actions, and her feelings. Reason and passion meet... Kipe writes and sings all of her music to tracks licensed on the internet and cleared by producers from around the globe and carefully crafted in basements and high-class studios alike. “I spent many years waiting for someone to give me a chance. Singing in choirs, in bands, doing shows and hoping that someone would somehow find me. Then I got sick of waiting and decided to give myself the opportunity I’d been waiting for,” she says. We’re glad she did. Léna Kipe is based in LA and can be found roaming the streets of Montréal, Paris, Conakry, and wherever her sultry voice carries her.
