After a number of experiences in prominent bands from the Parisian scene, Oxy presents his debut EP "Freequation". With a multi-faceted background, balanced between piano and classical percussion as well as jazz studies, he combines a wide range of sounds inspired by his discovery of clubs and their music cultures to create a unique sound. « "Freequation" tells the story of the journey it was to write the record » explains Oxy. « There's a lot of questioning. Sometimes it feels like you have to do it all over again. You wonder where you stand, if you're sure of your music. But it's also the moment when you tell yourself you can do it. » With Freequation, an EP written and composed especially for him, Oxy has finally taken the plunge. On this record, the pianist gives pride of place to many of his influences. To his taste for classical music shaped by the work of Oscar Peterson or Vladimir Horowitz, a piano superstar completely out of his depth, he adds a whole range of sounds inspired by his discovery of clubs and their musical cultures. Floating Point, Bicep, Four Tet, Aphex Twin and Burial are among his pantheon of favorite producers. While tracks such as Tarnished Fragility and Surrender pay tribute to his first passion, classical music, Merit Left Behind, Fuel and Flare, a genuine declaration of love to house, paint a broad spectrum of his tastes in electronic music. The marriage of these two genres produces an ultra-polished result, enhanced by his inspired playing.
