Biography

Rock band with thousands of records sold, nine albums released and a live DVD for MTV in Milan, Blind Zero are part of Portuguese music history. Blind Zero started out in 1994 releasing their first EP, “Recognize” (1995), which sold out in nine days, and is today a collection item. The first album “Trigger”, produced by Ronnie Champagne, was the first rock album by a Portuguese band singing in English to reach the gold record sales. In 1996, the band was invited to participate in SCYPE (Song Contest for Youth Programs in Europe), a festival gathering bands from all over Europe. They recorded a new original song, "My House", and won the contest. Album “Redcoast” (1997) was produced by Michael Vail Blum and “One Silent Accident” (2000) by Don Fleming. In 2003, “A Way to Bleed your Lover” had Dana Colley (Twinemen/ex-Morphine) and Portuguese singer/songwriter Jorge Palma. Invited by MTV to perform in Milan, show released in DVD, they won the "Best Portuguese Act" award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Edinburgh, becoming the first Portuguese band to receive an award by MTV. They released “The night before and a new day” (2005); the unplugged “Time Machine (memories undone)” (2007); “Luna Park” (2010); “Kill Drama I & II” (2013/2015); and “Often Trees” (2017). In 2024 the band celebrate 30 years with the release of a new album, “Courage and Doom”. Live, the quartet surprises with a chemical and timeless show, revealing their enormous creativity and vitality.
