MNTRA (pronounced 'Mantra') is the moniker of Aniruddha Prabhu - a DJ, record producer, singer and songwriter - based in the Indian city of Bangalore. Having been brought up in a family of artists, his love for music started early. Trained in Indian classical music as a child, he then went on to play Rock music in his teenage years - as the singer and guitarist for Bangalore based bands 'Shakuni' and 'Asleep in a Rifle'. After deciding to pursue music as a full time career in 2016, he eventually delved into music production, DJing and pop songwriting, with a goal of making music that would appeal to a wide range of audience - songs that would make anyone on the dance-floor start to move, irrespective of culture, gender or orientation - which is the one true essence of Dance music. DJ Mntra's current focus is on releasing a wide range of music across styles, not only deeply rooted in modern Dance music culture, but also infused with an innate Pop sensibility - with emphasis on catchy melodies and nifty rhythms. Influenced by the multicultural sounds of Dancehall, Reggaeton, Hip-Hop and House music, and the various sub-genres of EDM, he also incorporates Indian and Eastern elements in his music, owing to his cultural background. With an arsenal of groovy and infectious tracks, DJ Mntra is well on his way to making a unique and indelible mark on the Dance music landscape of India.
