Turkish Music for Viola

Biography

Beste Tiknaz Modiri, violist, is a winner of national and international prizes and awards, a soloist with orchestras and recitals throughout the World, an active Chamber music player and viola professor. Tıknaz is the winner of: ICMEC Competition (Gold Medal), BO.CO. String Idol, MTNA Young Concert Artists State and Eastern Competitions, BO.CO. Concerto Competition, 9 Eylul University national viola Competition, Playing for Peace award, President award and Donizetti Chamber Music Award. In addition to being a prize-winning soloist, Beste is also an active chamber music player. She was a member of the Kibele, Sospiro, Semplice, Winsor Music Quartets and currently is a member of the, Borusan Virtuosi, ViolAria Trio, Orient Ensemble and the Sion Soloists. Summers are spent teaching at Youth and Muse Festival in Boston, Point Counter Point in Vermont, Apple Hill in New Hampshire, the Chichibu Festival in Japan and, Associazione Mozart Torino, Italy. She is curently holding an Associate Professor (Docent) position at Istanbul University State Conservatory and the principal violist of the Borusan Istanbul Philarmonic Orchestra and Philarmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin. Throughout the year she give concerts under the name of the Project she started as “Beste Tiknaz and Peace Stars and “She plays with ‘1883 Gand and Bernardel’ viola.
