Pedro Alcalde is composer, conductor, and pianist. His works include acoustic, electroacoustic and electronic experimental music for ballet, theatre, film and sound installation. Building on his experience as conductor and classical musician, he blends various forms and contents into his own aesthetic of sound and scenic composition. His works often draw from philosophy, history or literature, to examine relevant social or environmental issues and have been performed worldwide, at leading venues and opera houses like the Berlin State Opera, the Royal Theater in Madrid, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Theatre Mossoveta in Moscow, the New York City Center, the Lyric Theatre in Sidney, the Sónar Festival, and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, among many others.
