Born in Buffalo, New York, as Shakiyla Johnson, moved to Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of ten. It was in Charlotte, NC, where ShaTown discovered her voice and passion for bringing raw rhymes by promoting her cassette tapes in Middle School. It was in her early years where she began to study music, produce, and write in her father’s basement studio, who was also one of her earliest influences in her music. It was in 2016, when ShaTown moved to Atlanta to merge her rawness with the south. Drawing heavy influences from Nipsey Hussle, ShaTown speaks on the multi-layer nature of relationships, pain, and perception. As a solo artist, ShaTown dropped her first hit single ``Watch Yo Chick” , then later followed up with her single “Juggin” . The buzz growing around the rapper in the Atlanta Georgia and both Tampa Florida areas made her songs Ain't Real and Selfish go viral.
