Typically categorized as an experimental rock band, Culto Oculto has in fact incorporated diverse influences and instrumentation during this long history positioning them as a NO WAVE band. Founded between 1989/90, they became, together with Sentimiento Muerto , in one of the only two Venezuelan bands to play in the mythical CBGB’s in NY. His first album came on in 1996/97 and released by Mexican label Culebra Continental. In 1999 recorded its second album Baralt000mix, released in 2000, and in 2002 the third album Blanco. In their trajectory they have played on scenarios as relevant as the legendary space of the RTVE Radio y Televisión Española Conciertos de Radio 3 becoming the first Venezuelan band to perform in this important show, Sziget Festival 2007 in Budapest, CBGB’s, Cafe A Go Go ( Old Cafe Au Go Go ), etc. In 2020 they start a collaboration with Javier Corcobado that brings as a result a new EP that will be published in February 2022 including: "French Disko", version of Stereolab, and "Perr@" of CULTOOCULTO, both in collaboration with Aintzane con G de Gloria. This collaboration resulted in Javier Corcobado producing the new CULTO OCULTO album to be released in 2022.
