Tony, also known by his stage name Tonetrax, began producing music in the early 1990s. What began as a hobby and creative pastime developed over the years into an enduring passion to which he devoted himself with varying degrees of intensity. Tonetrax's music can be roughly categorized as house music. However, elements from other genres such as trance, techno or even acid are often integrated. Tonetrax is musically very open-minded and believes that although music can be categorized “production-wise” by genre-specific instrumentation, it is not emotionally bound to a genre. He says: “If a song moves you emotionally, in whatever way, it doesn't matter what genre it comes from.” Tonetrax is a pure studio project. Production takes place in Steinmauern, a small suburb of Rastatt near Karlsruhe on the edge of the Black Forest.
