Lockdown hit us all. Me and my Skindred brothers had to spend time at home, away from each other for the first time in years. Instead of getting depressed and get down I chose to use my time productively and get creative. For a while now I have had the idea to record a few covers, taking Classic Rock artists songs and re-recording their hits in a fun and uplifting Jamaican Rocksteady stylee. Being a big fan of both genres this had to be fun. There was someone I knew would execute this project perfectly, and just as bigger fan of rock and reggae as myself. Singer, songwriter & producer my bredrin of 25 years Stickz, who is based out of Nottingham, England. Stickz worked with me on my first reggae solo album, I Haven’t Been Nicking in Ages. Stickz has recently had the artist Joel Corry cover his classic UK Garage song that he wrote & produced with the artist Monsta Boy called Sorry, that went Platinum & charted all over the World. We both used the Lockdown time productively, going back and forth on the internet, we collaborated and had such a fun time re-working the classics you are about to hear. We were fortunate enough to have Phil Campbell the guitarist from Motorhead play guitar on 'Ace of Spades', also Jeff Rose from Dub War who is the biggest fan of ACDC I know play guitar on 'You Shook Me All Night Long'. This album is all about fun for all & all for fun. Big love to all the original bands and artists that inspired theses Rocksteady Ska Reggae versions. NUFF LUV
