Sohail Arora launched his solo project, EZ Riser, in Oct 2012. Pick anyone’s name from India’s bass scene, and the name Sohail Arora would receive instant recognition. Often known as a pioneer for pushing cutting edge electronic music in India, Sohail Arora got exposed to Bass music during his days of working with Blue Frog & Zenzi, the iconic music venues of Mumbai. By 2008, Sohail had co-founded Bay Beat Collective, one of India’s most influential Bass crews, dabbling in styles ranging from Drum n Bass to Dubstep with a partiality to ‘phat basslines. BBC went onto play some of the essential bass gigs in the country including support for The Prodigy, Chase & Status, Pendulum, London Elektricity, Concord Dawn and many more. EZ Riser aims to showcase newer forms of electronic music with a focus on Breaks, Jungle, Footwork, Drum& Bass, Half-Time, Hip Hop and Global Bass. EZ Riser’s musicality extends to a variety of bass-heavy mixes shelled out over the years. His DJ mixes entail flavours that are hard-hitting, bouncy and engineered for the dance floor. He has done online shows for Mixmag Lab, dnbportal.com & more EZ Riser has played in clubs all across India + has performed at renowned Indian festivals like Magnetic Fields, NH7 Weekender, VH1 Supersonic, Goa Sunsplash Festival to global festivals like Bass Coast (Canada), Outlook Festival & Dimensions Festival (Croatia) & many more. 2020 will see a bunch releases from the EZ Riser camp.
