Biography

From the time Dave Dictor was young, he knew he was a little different than the all-American kids around him. Radicalized politically while in high school, inspired to seize opportunities by his hard-working parents, and intrigued with gender fluidity, Dictor moved to Austin, and connected with local misfits and anti-establishment rock'n'rollers. He began penning songs that influenced American punk rock for decades. MDC: In 1979, Dictor formed the Reejex that morphed into a band called the Stains with long term musical partner, Ron Posner that later formed into the band MDC. The band gave various projects different names with the MDC moniker, including Millions Of Dead Cops, Multi Death Corporation, Millions Of Dead Children, and Millions Of Damn Christians. MDC experienced a brief lull between 1997 and 2001 in which he focused on raising a son as a single parent and attaining a teacher’s degree. In the early 2000s, MDC returned to a heavy touring schedule and has been touring and releasing albums since.
