Daniela Lorenz grows up in a picturesque Swiss mountain village in Graubünden. Early on, summer stays in Spain introduce her to the sounds of Latin American music. In her youth, she learns to play the Charango and the Quena, both traditional Andean instruments, and performs with Andean music ensembles. At the Zurich Conservatory, she studies Rhythmics, Music, Pedagogy, and Piano as a minor. After graduating, she further trains with renowned harpists in Switzerland, Paraguay, and Madrid, including Marcelino Benitez and Nicolás Caballero. Daniela introduces Latin American harp music to an international audience, performing in Europe and Latin America while arranging and composing for the diatonic Paraguayan harp. Her work encompasses solo and ensemble performances, including collaborations with the Swiss Guard and projects with Latin American singers, guitarists, and choirs. During the pandemic, she develops a free YouTube video course on the Paraguayan harp. In 2022, she publishes a sheet music collection featuring Latin American music for children in music schools. Since 1992, she has released eight CDs and contributed to over sixteen albums. She has appeared on various TV and radio programs in Europe and South America. Today, Daniela lives near Zurich, continuing her artistic journey.
