Q-052 is a Mi'kmaq Hip Hop artist from the Mi'kmaq Community of Gesgapegiag on the East Coast of Quebec, in the beautiful Gaspesie. The "Q" represents the letter of his first name "Quentin" and the "052" is the Federal Government identification number of the "Indian Reservation" that "Q" is from. His lyrics address the issues and challenges that the Indigenous People across Turtle Island face every day. Environmental protection, the crisis of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Indian Residential Schools, suicide, lateral violence and the oppression by the Canadian Federal Government on Indigenous People are all subjects discussed in the EP and LP classroom of Q-052. On an old-school beat with a Reservation flow, Q-052 delivers raw truths of Indigenous life without holding back any punches. In Q’s latest album release titled “The Storm”, he pulls together his touring band “The French Connection” to deliver an electric, alternative rock-hip hop vibe with hard hitting lyrics!
