Biography

RUNE ALVER who lives in Alver, Vestland studied at Bergen Music Conservatory and the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo where he received his Diploma in 1986. He studied with the pianists Jan Henrik Kayser, Einar Steen-Nøkleberg and Vlado Perlemuter. Since his debut as a pianist at the age of 20 Rune Alver has achived an extensive activity as a soloist and chamber musician. He has many years of experience performing Edvard Grieg’s music at the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen. He maintains an extensive concert schedule as soloist and chamber musician with performances throughout Europe and in Russia, China and South Africa. In 2013, he performed a solo recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Rune Alver collaborates with leading musicians, actors and visual artists in traditional and more experimental contexts. He has recorded a number of critically acclaimed albums, among them the complete piano works of Johannes Midelfart Rivertz and David Monrad Johansen. In 2019, Rune released the album "Catharinus Elling Works for Piano: Et kjærlighetsdikt by Catharinus Elling and his latest album"Études Poétiques" was released in March 2020. "Impromptu" was released October 8, 2021 and the digital release Malgré moi on December 1.
