Rico Hunte aka R.I.C.O. is an American hip hop recording artist from Brooklyn, New York. Rico always knew he was meant for greatness, to do something that would reach out and be heard by the world. From young he started off creating poetry to express himself. Writing about the trials and tribulations that went on in his life and surroundings. This aspiring artist always had a love for music, learning and playing the Steel Pan (Instrument from Trinidad) from a young age. Till this day Rico still incorporates these instruments into his music. Rico was always considered different but it worked to his advantage with creating and shaping his own sound. R.I.C.O. stands for Respect - Intelligence - Cynical - Outstanding. All outlining the traits that can be heard in his lyrics. Rico interned in the Publicity Department for the head publicist of Universal Motown Records. Helping behind the scenes with numerous artists. However, he started to feel as though he was setting aside his dreams. It was then that he decided to put all his time and energy into his own music, Dropping his first Mix tape: “COLD SHOWER”, Then his second "FROM MY HEART TO THE MIC". Writing his own lyrics, rapping, and arranging his own music. Now R.I.C.O. has released a new project entitled “BROOKLYN BOUND VIRGO (BBV)”. Hating to sound unoriginal, his unique rapping style pulls you into his lyrical stories and takes you inside his mind.
