Pavaka is a musician and music group made up of rotating members from around the world dedicated to arranging, performing and recording the meditative music of Sri Chinmoy (1931-2007). The songs are mostly in Bengali with some English. The arrangements strive to convey the depth of the spirituality with which Sri Chinmoy imbued his songs and mantras. Sri Chinmoy was a spiritual teacher who lead meditations for delegates and staff at the United Nations from 1970 to 2007 and travelled extensively to promote peace through meditation, sport and the arts. Pavaka uses guitars and other instruments to create arrangements that are soulfully elevating while having depth that can be heard and experienced.
