Jake Leckie creates rootsy organic funky folk-jazz for the people! His bass playing is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, and informed by classical, gospel, Latin music, and hip-hop. His performance credits include Sixto “Sugarman” Rodríguez, The Harlem Gospel Travelers, Matthew Whitaker, Warren Wolf, Hitomi Oba, Susan Alcorn, Matana Roberts, Christopher McBride, Grammy® Award-winning Latin Big Band Pacific Mambo Orchestra, The Havana Jazz Festival, The Montreal Jazz Festival, and The Newport Jazz Festival. He has produced three albums of original music, The Abode (Outside In Music 2019), The Guide (Ropeadope 2022), and Planter of Seeds (2024).
