Biography

Cobalt Road is the culmination of disco, electro pop, and an obsession with synthesizers in a single artist. The Floridian producer merges retro sounds with radio-ready songwriting while avoiding cliche. His tasteful synth and drum-machine productions are simultaneously timeless and current. Cobalt Road began creating music to emulate the sounds of artists like Daft Punk, Justice, and deadmau5. A slow start soon found momentum in 2015 when Cobalt Road began to experiment with vaporwave. Inspired by the sounds of VAPERROR and Blank Banshee, he struck a creative balance by making trap beats over slowed-down samples. 2015 saw the release of Purgatory, a cult-classic vaporwave release that continues to gain praise. Cobalt Road’s next big move would come in 2016 with the release of Biosphere, a split concept album with Staqq Overflo. Following the nonstop creative surge of 2015 and 2016, Cobalt Road took a hiatus to quietly focus on other projects. Thankfully, the Fall of 2018 saw a new burst of ideas for him, returning to the disco and funk sounds of Daft Punk and Justice. By 2019, these ideas reached the surface with What’s Good, a poppy nu-disco single released on Fibre's Montaime Records.
