As a kid, I was always writing songs and putting shows and concerts on with/for my friends and family. I wanted to be the next Hannah Montana, Francesca Battistelli, or Lauren Daigle . As time went on, my dream never changed. I was going to get a record contract and be someone for girls everywhere to look up to, just as I had growing up. When I hit middle school, the plan was the same. I was still writing song but now I was singing “specials” at my school’s chapels on Thursdays. When I got to high school, I joined my schools worship team and everything changed. Performing and leading worship were two VERY different things. Not only did I love playing in a band and leading my school in worship, but for the first time in my life, I fell in love with Jesus. I loved to worship Him more than I loved to perform for myself. I was saved at 7, but my religion lacked relationship. And let me tell you, the way I related to God became completely different. Living “for” God became living “with” God. I am currently a singer/songwriter going to college in Nashville for worship leading while still trying to “make it” in the music industry. My hope now is that my music brings others closer to Him. If at the end of my life, no one remembered my name but came to know the name of Jesus— that would be enough.
