Biography

James Motter –best known by his stage name Millennial Trash– is a bass music DJ, producer and vocalist based in Dallas, TX; though you probably wouldn’t be able to guess that from his sound. Heavily influenced by the wobbly stylings of UK dubstep, Millennial Trash is quickly making a name for himself in the bass music scene with a niche blend of sonics that many are starting to take notice of, with supporters including Zomboy, Krewella, Doctor P, Sikdope, Chime, Teminite and Willy Joy.
Motter was raised in Plano, TX and started to gain an appreciation for music at a young age, learning the art of vocals and percussion in the process, eventually transitioning to music production. He first started to make waves in the EDM scene under the name “Reflekt” after studying music business at Dallas Baptist University, later rebranding to "Millennial Trash" to better represent both his cheeky sense of humor and background in emo music.
One of the earliest adopters of the ever-growing colour bass genre, Motter is best known for his 2020 melodic riddim track "Noddin'" with Ace Aura (which received a remix package with a whopping 13 different takes on the original song) and his drum & bass remix of "Without" by FuntCase, along with various other releases on Disciple, Circus Records, GRVDNCR and Rushdown. Songs like "Anxiety," "The Edge" and "Wildfire" feature emo-tinged vocals from Motter himself, echoing back to his days playing in rock bands early in his career.
