At tender age of three, Dezman was handed his first guitar which sparked off a lifetime of musical pursuits. Born Shema Desmond Christie Jr. he owes his African heritage to his Rwandan mother Cyanzayire Marie Jeanne; and plants his Caribbean roots at the feet of Desmond Nathaniel Christie his father of Jamaican decent. His music is too, is a reflection of this identity, heritage, and the current human condition. His first first Album titled “Mama” was released in 2006 in Kigali-Rwanda and includes titles such as, Mama, Wimbabaza and Wale Watu, close to extinction,to name but a smattering.  He has since moved to Germany and attained a Bachelors's degree in Media Technology. All this , while returning to his musical roots and aspirations, singing in Kinyarwanda, English, and Swahili. Dezman can boast of having performed alongside some globally acclaimed talents such as reggae artists Peter Morgan, Jah Mason, Horse Smouth, Alpha Blondy and Tiken Jah Fakoly. In 2019 he released the singles “FOR GRANTED and “LIVE and LET LIVE” they have both reggae and African music flavors you can hear off of his second EP (Magic hour) expected for release in December 2020. Live and Let Live is currently topping the summer 2020 charts(Top 5)  in his home country Rwanda.
