Biography

Bryn Scott-Grimes is a US-Canadian harmonica player, guitarist, producer, & singer-songwriter based in Nashville. With influences ranging from psychedelic, baroque pop, blues, rock, folk, jazz, and country all the way to hip hop, reggae, funk, big band swing, and broadway, Bryn's musical tendencies are as diverse as a hearty salad. Since 2014, Bryn has released a slew of singles and drops new ones frequently. Slated for release later this year, The Build is Bryn's debut EP, which was funded by the Ontario Arts Council. Having grown up asthmatic, carrying puffers around everywhere (now asthma free), it is an utter paradox that Bryn now makes a living with his lungs. His intricate breath-work can be heard on numerous singles, albums, feature films and shorts, CBC Gem’s Rockin’ the Coffin (2020), Danger Dolan’s “The Ant Who Complains All Day” (2016), and Stealing the Sky (feature film by Marie Dame, directed by Megan Follows; for release in 2023). Bryn was also featured in JbyJ’s documentary Me & My Harmonica which won best documentary at the Canadian Ethnic Media Association awards in 2017. As a go-to session harp player, Bryn has played on recordings by Anna Gutmanis, Taylor Abrahamse, Steve Koven, and Goldpine to name a few.
