Born in South Central, LA and raised in Inglewood, Jjoonz SOUNDS like it...SOMETIMES. Songs like GAS show off his beautiful LA rhythmic flow, but on Convoy you can see a clear 2000s alternative rock inspiration. Joonz knows good music! If its catchy, he’s probably heard it!! In elementary Joonz would have to take the bus with his brother and cousins who were all a few years older than him, it’s here where he heard his future self in the likes of artists like Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Project Pat, Tupac, Three Six Mafia, and his 2 favorite acts at the time, Snoop Dogg and the Bone Thugs N Harmony. This was truly the foundation for his musical genius to come later. Always being the youngest and being shunned Joonz grew to resent his brother and cousins view of him, so he changed it! He began to listen to a lot of Alternative Rock, now bands like Blink 182, Weezer, Sum 41, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Linkin Park ruled his Sony walkman. As he learned to play the guitar he grew to love The Fall of Troy, by far his favorite band of all time. Other scene bands like Escape the fate, Senses Fail, Saosin, and Emery became his new go toos!!! Never losing his ear for the streets though, Joonz began to listen to different Rap, SPM and Nipsey Hussle we’re both introduced to him around the same time, with the latter being his favorite Role Model ever. These days he listens to mostly 03 Greedo and Nipsey but that doesn’t you can’t hear his Alternative melodies and rhythmic bars meshing for a BANGER!!!
