Sahana, an Independent musician from Santiniketan, India, PhD in Music from King College London, was awarded at the UK Parliament, "The Bengal's Pride Award", for her contribution to Arts and Culture. She was trained in Rabindrasangeet, Hindustani Classical Music, and, Bengali Folk Music in Santiniketan. She now travels the world singing and collaborating with musicians from different countries. She has published four critically acclaimed studio albums, and several singles independently, and has written several top-charting songs for the Bangladeshi musician Arnob. She has performed at prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, University of Cambridge, SOAS University of London, The London School of Economics in the United Kingdom, various cities in the US and Europe- the Grassi Museum Leipzig, Germany, Sosnowiec Music School, Poland, the River Festival, Padova, Italy, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris, Stuttgart, Bonn, to name a few. Spending quite a few years teaching English Literature in Brac University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, she is now based in London. She teaches South Asian Studies and Bengali at SOAS, University of London of which she is an alumna. If she had her life to live again, she would not change much.
