Kabelo Monyebudi, Known as Jolly B, is a South African born artist, he grew up in the Township of Mamelodi, Pretoria – he went to Cullinan Primary school, PTA and moved to Middelburg with his grandma and he got expelled, the same year he moved to the UK when he was 9 year with both his parents, and as year went by that’s when he experienced the tough life of being an immigrant in rough streets of Greater London, Redhill – in school he began . In 2017, April 23rd he got arrested in Oxted, he was found guilty of possessing illegal substances with the intent to supply and sentenced to two and a half year’s. During his tenure in prison, Jolly B began writing songs and vowed to make it a career soon as he was out, he kept posting on his Instagram videos of his freestyles until he was released and he dropped MEAN on Jan 1st 2021, since then he dropped 3 singles, 1 collab song, and 1 featured song between January 2021 and December 2021. South Africa has received him really well, as he brought something most eople have not heard before by mixing his South London accent and slang with ‘SPITORI’, the distinct langauge of townships in Pretoria and since he’s recieved co-signs from DJ Maphorisa, 25K, Focalistic, Nina Hastie and a variety of industry entertainer’s who really resonate with his his latest single PATIENCE.
