South London-based group Giant Folk subtly weaves folk-inspired lyrics and sensibility with the complex harmony and rhythmic devices of modern jazz. After 2021 brought sold-out headline shows, radio plays, and interviews, the group are now launching their second release and will be celebrating with their single launch party on the 10th April 2022 at Folklore, (Hoxton, London) The upcoming release is out on Future Fable Records on the 25th March 2022 and features Trinity Laban Conservatoire jazz Alumni: Rowan Flack (Vocals), Sylvan Biscoe (Sax), Jack Lecomber (Bass) and Tara Cunningham (Guitar). It was recorded in Flack’s South-London D.I.Y home studio, in June ’21. Giant Folk originated with Flack, Cunningham, and Lecomber and now draws from a pool of well-respected musicians from the London and Bath folk and jazz scenes. This includes Sol Grimshaw (Acoustic Guitar), Sylvan Biscoe (Sax), George Garford (Sax) and Tobie Medland (Violin). Within the group, there is notable worldwide experience working amongst the music scenes in China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Norway, all whilst being regular musicians on the South London Jazz circuit.
