Laid Back celebrates their 40th anniversary with the new studio album "Healing Feeling" and will play with their anniversary band at selected festivals. 2019 is a special year for Laid Back marking 40 years of making music in the same studio in Copenhagen, the studio where it all began. Tim Stahl and John Guldberg met way back in the seventies in another band and soon found out that there was a special chemistry between them. Tim and John began jamming together and do tape recordings in John's small studio in Copenhagen. They soon realized that they had made a new sound, a new way of making music. The debut album “Laid Back” with their first #1 hit “Maybe I'm Crazy” was released in 1981. The next single, “Sunshine Reggae”, went #1 in 22 countries around the world and having so far sold more than 20 million units. In the US “White Horse” became a #1 Dance track and trendsetter for many other artists. Today, “White Horse” is known for being a benchmark cornerstone of the electronic music-making in the 80ies, having been sampled over and over again. In 1990, Laid Back had a comeback with the song "Bakerman", which is known for the skydiver video made by Lars von Trier. In 2019, Laid Back received the prestigious Danish award "Pioneer of the Year" for their many years of contribution to the international music scene. Since the very beginning, Laid Back has maintained their unique ability to sound exactly like themselves, while constantly navigating towards new sonic territories.
