Born and raised in Simi Valley, Salokin -- a name adopted and adapted from his birth name Nikolas -- first appeared on the local Soundcloud scene with his debut demo EP, No Leaks, in late 2018. Growing up, Salo's first connection with music was through his youth group at his church. Throughout his middle school and high school career he taught himself instruments and began a real connection with music. By 2017 he began his role as the director of worship at the same youth group he got his start in. Pulling inspiration from artists like Post Malone, Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, and Travis Scott, he combined his ear for melody and familiar sounds to bring something fresh to the scene. He plans on putting out music as "the timelines line up."
