As a child, music was always an intricate part of Markita's life. Music was always a primary expression of her life that was not only an expression but grew to become one of her strongest loves in life. Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it, which helped to establish humble early beginnings for her love to sing God’s praises and give glory to His name. 
 Markita has worked and shared the musical stage and tour with great musical giants like: Andrae’ Crouch, Kurt Carr, Judith McAllister, CeCe Winans, Jerard & Jovaun, Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful, Tommy Walker, Beverly Crawford, Norman Hutchins, Micah Stampley, Kathy Taylor and many, many more... 
 One of her favorite scriptures is Phillipians 1:6 - “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” This is a mantra that she walks by realizing that since God has begun a good work, then its God's responsibility to complete it, because He doesn't lie!
