Biography

Letrell Pompey, professionally known as simply LeTrell, is a 23 year old musical artist from Baltimore, MD. Growing up, LeTrell always found himself taking his attention to anything that involved music. From a young age, he was always fascinated with how rappers used words and different aspects of grammar to deliver a simple message to a listener's ear. He picked up rapping at the age of 12, writing elementary rhymes in his compositon notebook and keeping them to himself. He had no intent of gaining any exposure from rapping until the age of 15. At that age, he was urged by close friends to consider making rap a main priority and so he did. He started recording himself at the age of 16 and released his first song under the name "Lor Trell". He released a number of songs before he changed his name to "MASIBOI" then "Yung Driip" then "Lil Moon" which eventually became "Lil Moon Gone". He came up with the name "Lil Moon" just by comparing himself and his music to the phases of the moon - he's constantly changing. On the strength of that comparison, he felt as though he began to change the way he approached music from a production standpoint and he also felt himself beginning to change as a person, thus changing his name to "Lil Moon Gone" because he felt as though the old "Lil Moon" was gone and gone for good. After 2 years of releasing music and going under the moniker "Lil Moon Gone", he decided to change his name one last time to just "LeTrell".
