Yttrium is an instrumental funk-rock duo formed in 2020 by bassist daniB and guitarist Vinícius Andrade. They are named after the chemical element yttrium. Their self-produced debut album HANA was released on digital platforms on June 10th, 2022. The band was formed in June 2020 when daniB needed a guitarist for his jam project and got in touch with Vinícius Andrade with whom he had recently collaborated. Instead of recording some jamming material, Dani sent Vinícius a demo version of his song "Monochromia" which Vinícius was happy to work on. After finishing the first rough version of the song the two decided to collaborate further on the demo version of "Passage". Despite a troubled start to the recording sessions (to Monochromia in particular) they ended up being successful and the two members decided to continue writing more songs together and eventually form the band.
